KOS Spring Meeting Report, 2016
Seventy-four KOS members and friends gathered for the society’s spring meeting at
Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park, April 29th - May 1st, 2016.
The gathering featured ten guided bird walks over the three day span, as well as
outstanding programs on Friday and Saturday evenings. The group totaled an
impressive 160 species of birds over the weekend. Highlights included 8 species of raptors, 11
shorebirds, 7 gulls and terns, 6 vireos, and 29 warblers! For a complete list of birds seen, click
The Friday and Saturday evening programs were both excellent, with presentations by
Stratton Hatfield on African birds, and world-traveler and bird enthusiast James Currie on
his birding adventures. A full report will appear in a future edition of The Kentucky Warbler.
