About Donating to KOS

Kentucky Ornithological Society is a qualified 501(c)(3) organization and your donations can be tax deductible depending on your individual situation. Consult with the IRS or your tax advisor for more information.

There are several ways to support KOS and its work. They include:

  • Become a member or renew your membership - Membership in KOS is fun and your dues support our activities and grants.
  • Monetary donations - We accept checks, cash, Paypal and major credit cards. See below for more information.
  • Donate your time - If you'd like to volunteer some time to help KOS acheive its goals, please visit the Contact Us page for a list of email addresses. You can contact the KOS inbox or one of the board members for assistance.
  • Kroger Plus Card Community Rewards Program - If you have a Kroger Plus Card and want your use of the card to benefit KOS, that is now possible. For more information and instructions on how to do it, please read this message from KOS Treasurer Steve Kistler.

Whether you are joining the Kentucky Ornithological Society as a new member, or renewing a membership, welcome to the society. KOS is an inclusive organization and we welcome all people as members and guests. We appreciate your interest in KOS.

Members paying dues after September 15th of a calendar year will be covered for the rest of that year, plus the following year as well.

Members receive free issues of The Kentucky Warbler at the time of publication. When you join or renew, you choose how your free copies will be delivered. You can receive your copies as full-color PDF files delivered via email, or as printed paper copies delivered via US mail.

Please note that printing and delivering paper copies costs more than sending digital copies by email. Please consider adding a donation below to help offset these extra costs.
